I'm Drew Overgaard, a software developer from Stockton, California, and I'm passionate about creating technology that actually solves problems. My fascination with computers started in sixth grade when I discovered Game Maker Studios—suddenly, I could bring my ideas to life. I spent countless hours crafting games and modifying others' work, learning that building things is infinitely more fun than just using them. By high school, I was hooked on programming. I built mobile apps for Android and launched them on the Google Play Store. Seeing one of my apps hit over 10,000 downloads was surreal—it wasn't about the numbers, but knowing that code I wrote was actually being used by real people. That realization lit a fire in me to learn more, build better, and tackle bigger challenges. I earned my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of the Pacific, with a focus on software development, after completing my foundational coursework at San Joaquin Delta College. What really shaped me, though, was working full-time for Pacific's IT department across three campuses. I got my hands dirty with infrastructure, support systems, and enterprise solutions—the kind of work that taught me the difference between code that looks good and code that works reliably in the real world. Collaborating with the Digital Media Department showed me how technology intersects with creativity. I thrive on that intersection: where solid engineering meets thoughtful design, where code serves people, and where the work actually matters.
